St. John had done well during the covid 19 pandemic, with only 2 cases on the island which have since recovered and no cases under investigation (as of June 13, 2020). The total cases in the Virgin Islands have been 71 until re-opening (with the other cases being on St. Thomas and St. Croix).

Two new COVID-19 case on St. John since re-opening on June 1st

The island is back open for visitors since June1 and now sadly there are the first new active cases on St. John since re-opening. The other new cases are on St. Croix. According to the governor, contact tracing has been done, so hopefully this can be contained, we will see.

How are things on St. John, USVI?

Right now about 3/4 of the businesses, bars and restaurants are back open. You have to wear masks inside any business with the excemption of bars. Charter boats have resumed operations but the British Virgin Islands remain closed for visitors until September 1st.  For some great local boating destinations check out Lime Out and Pizza Pi which have both re-opened or these local charter options.
