We are sad to report that there has been a fire at St. John’s Mongoose Junction today and at least 2 business are reported to have been destroyed. The fire started somewhere or around in the Beauty Lounge at 11:00 AM. The Tap Room has completely burned down. Caravan, Ocean Grill and Deli are severely damaged.

The fire was extinguished by 4:00 PM.

A property owner above Mongoose junction reportedly saw a puff of smoke coming from Mongoose Junction and called 911- no answer. He tried again and was connected to a St. Croix operator, who told him to call the local St. John number (listed below).

Another source said the fire trucks were there and had the fire mostly under control when they ran out of water for almost an hour until local water trucks brought more.

We wish all  Mongoose Junction businesses a speedy recovery.
